Struggles
Temple Grandin is a character in the movie "Temple Grandin." The movie is about Temple's life struggles with autism and how she tries to overcome them. This is seen through her trying to fit in at college where she eventually goes after she gets through with high school. At college she tries to fit in with people as best as she can, however that was not the case. People were mean to her and made fun of her. This all changed though when Temple befriended her roommate who was blind. They both saw the world differently and they shared that bond. This really helped Temple understand how normal people act. This allowed her to get a job and work on a ranch. However she was descriminated against, not because she had autism though it was because she was a women. None of the guys respected her and took her opinions under consideration. This was a problem when Temple designed a better cattle moving machine where she worked.
Successes
Temple's breakthrough was when no one would allow her to use it until she kept fighting and finally got them to try it. In the end Temple's idea worked and it really helped the ranch she worked at profits go up. Then she finally spoke up and told people what her autism was about and got it across to people. This caused her life story to be made into a movie, and the movie really helped everyone see things through her eyes by the use of flashbacks. This is to show people that she remembers everything she has seen and when someone says something she sees things through what she has seen in her past. Also her ability to remember things in detail helped her excel in math and science where you need good memory to excel.
